Description:
The Site Survey Technician is responsible for traveling to project
sites and collecting roof photos and measurements, identifying the
location of electrical boxes, and assure the location is prepared
and in good condition for solar PV installation.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Travel to project sites to obtain the necessary information to
complete technical design documents for a solar system
Create a detailed rooftop map layout for solar arrays including
roof layout dimensions and all roof penetrations (pipes, vents,
etc.)
Develop a positive relationship with customers to establish rapport
and to gather facilities assessment data as needed
Conduct a physical site audit using auditing tools including a
tablet/phone with apps, measuring devices, and other related
equipment
Gathers all electrical data required and uploads site audit
documents and photos to a cloud server
Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be physically able to work on roofs and in attics, as well as
lift 50+ pounds on occasion
Must have a valid state driver's license
Must be able to travel to different job sites
Understanding of site assessment, construction sequencing,
construction methods, and materials
Excellent customer service
Knowledge in working in or around electric panels and systems
Ability to organize and maintain paper documents, electronic
photos, and files
Basic computer skills including the ability to copy files and
communicate via email Ability to read plans, specifications,
diagrams, equipment submittals, and material data sheets
Ability to interact, communicate and provide detailed summaries of
work performed to the homeowner and management team
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces which
requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling,
crawling, turning, standing, and balance
Ability to transport materials and equipment to the rooftop to
complete installations.
Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not
limited to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet
environment, and humidity
Ability to work within the safe range of equipment such as ladders,
fall protection harnesses, and other PPE.
Ability to work while wearing heavy protective equipment such as
arc flash suits, gloves, and face shields
Ability to work and maintain balance on roofs and other areas of
height
Ability to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and roof shingles without
damage
Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings
