Job Details Position Summary The Sr. Technician will be responsible for assembly, test, verification, and packaging of our products along with continuous improvement activities for all released products in manufacturing. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Assemble, test, verify, and package our instruments including electro-mechanical components, cables, harnesses, motion control and opto-mechanical positioning assemblies, optical systems, safety enclosures, and aerosol waste collectors. Configure computer workstations for instrument operation and Viota software Analyze, optimize, and assist with development of manufacturing processes including work instructions, bills of material, and assembly drawings. Assist with development and improvement of incoming inspection test protocols for critical components. Review non-conforming products with QA and Operations Manager to determine necessary actions. Perform de-bugging, failure analysis and repair service on systems/components. Perform Purchase Order receivings and critical component inspections as needed. Perform annual inventory Competencies Minimum of 5 years of hands-on, top-down instrument manufacturing and testing experience preferably in an internationally recognized quality management system (i.e., ISO9001, or cGxP) environment. Excellent electro-mechanical assembly skills including basic wiring, cable and harness fabrication, and soldering. Experience with basic electrical/electronic components (capacitors, diodes, resistors, relays, etc.), mechanical and optical assembly and test equipment (voltmeters, oscilloscopes, lasers, drill presses, bandsaws, milling machines, etc.) Experience with setting up computers for use with instrument systems. Includes imaging of computers. Experience with a wide array of mechanical fabrication techniques including sheet metal, machining, and injection molding would be advantageous. Understanding and experience with Client/Database software packages preferred. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics. Proven experience creating and editing work instructions and related documents for product assembly and testing. Excellent time/task management, interpersonal relationships, oral and written communications skills. Proficient Computer skills/knowledge and solid experience with MS Office including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint software packages. Experience working with an ERP software package, such as Rootstock, would be helpful. Hands-on personality with a proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Desire to be part of a growing, fast-paced company. Education and/or Experience Associates or bachelors degree or equivalent in an engineering or electro-mechanical technology-oriented discipline.
