Job Title:- Principal Software Engineer (Database Postgres, MySQL ) Location: Richardson Texas 75082 (DateHYBRID 3 DAYS WORK FROM OFFICE Duration: Contract What are 2 or 3 prescreen questions you would like to have the vendor ask the candidates and provide the answers to along with their resume submittals?

  • Experience in AWS or Azure.
  • Experience designing/managing Postgres, MySQL, Snowflake.
  • SQL statement tuning - Reviewing and Implementing Database design changes
  • Coding (procedures, functions, packages, triggers, etc.)
  • Technical Requirement
  • Provide technical expertise and support in the use of Postgres RDS.
  • Define file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications.
  • Create and maintain database objects such as tables, views, index, constraints for data platform and custom applications.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain database backup and recovery procedures for the processing environments, and ensures that data integrity, security, and recoverability are built into the RDS and in line with other platform procedures and processes.
  • Drive end-to-end availability, performance monitoring, and capacity planning for PostgreSQL, using native and available/approved 3rd party tools.
  • Design and develop logical and physical database designs from application requirements.
  • Design and implement automation using scripts and database functions.
  • Implement replication and backups for mission critical/tier-1 applications in line with platform procedures and processes and RDS best practices.
  • Create/enhance and maintain database design, naming and other standards and periodically assess compliance to such standards through publishing standard reports
  • Provide development and technical support primarily for SQL programming and as needed for Python scripting, to accomplish stated objectives.
  • Perform testing and validation to ensure performance and defect free code delivery to meet and exceed requirements. This includes tuning and optimizing developed SQL, guiding developers to optimize and utilize best practices for SQL development.
  • Monitor database and related systems performance and support troubleshooting and optimizations as required. Perform debugging on database scripts & program and resolve conflicts.
