Responsible for managing day to day access control activities for PeopleSoft (PS) applications, with an emphasis in the areas of PS security maintenance, testing, documentation and production support; and coordinating activities with multiple institutions to meet compliance with established policies and procedures.









Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or associate's degree and 2 years of related experience or high school diploma and 4 years of related experience.









Preferred Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • 3+ years of PeopleSoft Applications access control / security administration experience (specifically in HCM, FSCM, Campus Solutions, and Interaction Hub) version 9.2;

  • 1+ years' experience with PeopleTools 8.59+.

  • Certifications in supported technologies.

  • 7+ years of systems analysis, design, software support and application security in a combination of:


    • 4+ years of PeopleSoft Applications access control / security administration experience (specifically in HCM, FSCM, Campus Solutions, and Interaction Hub) version 9.2;

    • 2+ years' experience with PeopleTools 8.59+;

    • 2+ years' experience with relational databases.







    • Hands on technical involvement with previous PeopleSoft 9.2/PeopleTools 8.59 implementation and upgrade projects.

    • Use of Phire for version control/change management and Cherwell for ticket management.

    • Practice with Power BI and Power Automate.

    • Utilization of Telerik Test Studio or similar testing automation software.

    • Experience with configuring PeopleSoft Single Sign-On (SSO) and/or LDAP.

    • Experience configuring integration broker.

    • Strong understanding of all phases of the application development life cycle and project management disciplines.

    • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Access).











      Essential Duties and Responsibilities



      • Ability to define, configure, and administer PS security across multiple instances (development, test, production, etc.) and applications (Interaction Hub, HCM, FSCM, and Campus Solutions) which includes interacting and working closely with multiple teams to implement PS Security. - 20%

      • Ability to configure/develop security objects that adhere to Oracle/PeopleSoft/UT System development standards and best practices, and ability to document the security infrastructure so that it may be interpreted, maintained and enhanced while providing documentation for internal/external audits. - 25%

      • Apply knowledge of PS security delivered functionality (user profiles, roles, permission list, etc.) to maximize features and functionality in support of identified customer requirements. Ability to make recommendations to improve, streamline and automate PS security. - 15%

      • Respond to, and troubleshoot, reported problems pertaining to the supported PS applications. Identify the cause, design or develop an approach for resolution, and upon approval, implement the correction to meet user specific needs. - 25%

      • Perform impact analysis on all PS applications/PeopleTools updates and provide impact analysis and remediation. - 10%

        Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


        • Experience functionally and technically in PeopleSoft HCM, FSCM, CS and Interaction Hub (Portal) version 9.2 applications.

        • Capable with PeopleTools 8.59+ toolset including application engine, application messaging, component interface, integration broker and PeopleCode.

        • PeopleSoft application security planning, design and configuration experience should include user profiles & preferences, static & dynamic roles, functional and primary permission lists, query & department trees, department/row level/POI security (HCM), process profiles and definition security.

        • Knowledge of the SJT processes and impact to end users in the HCM application.

        • Strong understanding of Interaction Hub security configuration, including but not limited to fluid, unified navigation and portal registry structures.

        • Configuring/securing of fluid technology related to landing pages, tiles, work centers and navigation collections.

        • Understanding of Elastic search and how to effectively secure its functionality

        • Involvement with the configuration and comprehension of Activity Guide use

        • Experience configuring and implementing process groups, component interfaces, web libraries, web services.

        • Ability to create and load Excel to CI templates for use in mass load or update of PS security configuration.

        • Experience with PS reporting tools including BI Publisher, nVision and query.

        • Experience designing and implementing a PS application security model in a large organizational environment.

        • Working knowledge of all aspects of the security audit process.

        • Robust SQL skills essential for direct queries against Oracle backend databases.

        • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

        • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute in a high-pressure environment.

        • Complete user security requests by associating users with predefined roles.

        • Troubleshoot security issues that arise and support end user questions.

        • Responsible for managing user requests and help desk tickets daily utilizing Cherwell.

        • Excellent oral, written, presentation, and communication skills.

        • Ability to work independently and within a diverse team of resources with different functional and technical backgrounds.

        • Ability to work well with people in all levels of the organization.

        • Occasional travel required for training and UT system campus visits.

        • This position is a full-time hybrid work engagement that will require some onsite availability in a UT SIS office.











          Special Instructions Summary



          • Position requires participation in an on-call rotation, including responsibilities to respond / resolve emergency issues after hours

          • Position location will be discussed during the interview process. Preferred location for this role is Fort Worth, TX.

          • Hybrid remote work environment available. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement is required upon employment. Must have the ability to be on Richardson campus with 48 hours of notice.
