Job Summary
Position Description
The Department of Psychology in the School of Behavioral and Brain
Sciences (BBS) at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) is
accepting applications for a tenure system position in
developmental cognitive neuroscience. We particularly seek
mid-career applicants with strong, funded research programs.
Candidates at all levels with funded or highly fundable research
will be considered if their interests and strengths are highly
aligned with the desired area. Candidates who use innovative
methodological or analytical approaches to the measurement of brain
activity or structure are particularly sought. Preference will be
given to applicants with interests in development during late
childhood and adolescence and its relevance for understanding
trajectories of cognitive and neural change across the remainder of
the lifespan.Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate
and graduate level courses in lifespan developmental psychology,
cognitive neuroscience, and developmental cognitive neuroscience,
and mentoring of doctoral, master's-level, and undergraduate
students. The successful candidate will become a faculty member of
UT Dallas' Center for Vital Longevity
(https://www.cvl.utdallas.edu). Their laboratory and primary office
facilities will be located in the Center, a short distance from the
UT Dallas Sammons Imaging Center and UT Southwestern Medical
Center.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent and demonstrate their
commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service, which
includes a strong commitment to principles of diversity, equity,
and inclusion. All candidates are expected to work effectively in a
highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprising
individuals of diverse backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. The
appointment commences August 1, 2023. A doctoral degree is
required. Mid-level and senior candidates, and junior candidates
with postdoctoral training will be preferred.

Minimum Education and Experience
An earned graduate degree appropriate to the academic discipline
and a record of productivity and professional achievement.
Preferred Education and Experience
Successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in Psychology,
Cognitive Neuroscience, Developmental Psychology, Developmental
Science, or Experimental Psychology with evidence of scholarly
contributions and ability to compete for extramural support in the
field of experimental psychology and/or cognitive neuroscience.
Excellent, innovative researcher whose research program would
synergize with current faculty, who could successfully teach needed
coursework, and whose expertise would support innovation related to
core goals in psychology (including increasing lifespan development
research profile). Mid-career researcher preferred. Well-funded
scholar preferred.
