Recent IT College Graduates at TI have the opportunity to gain experience through different job functions across IT such as: Mainframe Application Developer: Application developers design, code, and deploy new applications and enhancements that solve TI business needs. They work in a variety of spaces including Mainframe, web development, manufacturing automation, and data analytics.

  • Collaborate with project team members and stakeholders to translate business requirements into documented technical specifications, architecture and requirements
  • Supporting the requirements, design, software development, testing, and implementation phases for TI's Mainframe applications
  • Use a variety of programming languages, scripting languages, and middleware tools such as Cobol, JCL, Focus, C, IBM Z/os, IBM DB/DLI/DB2, TSO/ISPF, MQ, SQL, Oracle, Unix/Linux, and scripting
  • Monitor and support existing applications across operating systems including Windows and Unix/Linux
  • Create and execute unit testing and integration testing plans. Support user acceptance testing
  • Partner with the IT infrastructure and security teams to harden and secure the application environments Mainframe System Programmer/Administrator:
    • Consulting with business application owners to understand their requirements in order to design and implement the best infrastructure solutions to meet their needs
    • Researching and provisioning new technology solutions to meet the demands of our business application owners.
    • Provision, test and support TI's Mainframe Applications/Utilities and make needed enhancements to IBM products via user exits and In-line mods.
    • Monitoring performance and capacity of TI's Mainframe Environment
    • Mainframe systems provisioning/support using Assembler and REXX programming languages, JCL, TSO, ISPF
    • Provision and test mainframe network software and hardware Minimum Requirements:
      • Minimum BS in MIS/CIS, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or a related field
      • Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA
      • Basic understanding of programming (Assembler, REXX, Perl, Python, SQL)
      • Basic understanding of Mainframe systems programming Preferred Qualifications:
