Collins Aerospace's Integrated Strategic Solutions Engineering (ISSE) team is looking for an exceptionally motivated Engineer that is passionate about collaborating with High-Performance Teams to create mission critical solutions supporting Integrated Mission Systems.

Our Software Engineers work in an exciting, adaptive, and engaging environment enabling rapid learning to drive success. Our Software Engineers utilize a variety of skills on a regular basis including requirements analysis, software design, software implementation and testing that meld Strategic Nuclear Deterrence functionality and software engineering development best practices for complex systems where the ability to execute the mission is paramount.

What YOU will do:

  • You will be providing direct support to stakeholders to answer questions and solve technical issues.
  • You will work with other team members and domains to maintain and develop software design and code that satisfy customer and certification needs.
  • You will be producing high quality software builds in an integrated test environment.
  • You will interpret/derive software requirements, create/understand UML design diagrams, and code solutions from UML design diagrams.
  • You will communicate and collaborate with other Senior and Principal Level Software Engineers, mentoring junior engineers/interns.
  • Y will assist in the software requirements verification and test phases.

      Qualifications you must have:
      • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
      • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
      • Minimum 3+ years of experience in software design, integration and test utilizing C, C++, or similar languages.
      • Experience in embedded systems/software design with real-time operating systems.
      • Software development experience in a DoD environment.
        Qualifications We Prefer:
        • Experience in Agile development methods, including Scrum, automated testing, and continuous integration.
        • Familiar with software tools, such as CMake, Eclipse, Jenkins, DOORS, Jira, Confluence, Git, Subversion, etc.
        • Familiar with requirements management tools.
        • Previous professional background in software development lifecycle models and processes for department of defense contracts.
        • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering concepts for UML model and requirements management with tools such as MagicDraw Cameo, Rhapsody, and Enterprise Architect. What We Offer:

            Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

            The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

            Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

            Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

            This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
