Principal Linux System Administrators, internally known as Principal Analyst, infrastructure Workplace Services, collaborate with a diverse team to support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you are able to develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems. We are offering Relocation Responsibilities to Anticipate: * Administering Red Hat Linux based systems with minimal support, to include patching, creating RPM packages, performance tuning, networking, user management (LDAP), and security
* Hardware and software troubleshooting
* Scripting Experince in Bash and Python
* Using and developing with automation tools/frameworks such as Terraform, Ansible, and Chef
* Installing, administering and troubleshooting recent versions of VMware (ESXi and vCenter)
* Must be able to support occasional after hour maintenance and on-call support
* Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
* Must be able to develop solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems.
* Travel required to other US Domestic locations as business needs dictate up to 10% travel.
* Full time 100% Onsite position
* Must be able to lift 35 pounds for hardware installs. Basic Qualifications: * Typically requires bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or a master's degree and minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience.
* Must have an active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret SCI security clearance with CI polygraph s ecurity clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
* Must have Linux experience.
* Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date. IAT Level 2 requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, CND. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience administering Windows based systems
* Proficiency with Enterprise level administration of common services such as DNS, sendmail, and LDAP
* Strong analytic and research skills - must be detail oriented
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency
* Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors. What We Offer :

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
