and level of work)The role will be responsible for leading the
engineering for technology enabled customer facing solutions. The
director will leverage an advanced tech stack in IoT, Machine
Learning, Computer Vision, Big Data and Edge Computing. This role
will embed product development acumen in building a
high-performance engineering team. -Key Accountabilities
- Builds Effective Teams
- -In Conjunction with Human Capital build strong-identity teams
that apply diverse skill sets and perspectives to achieve common
goals.
- Lead an existing team of 3-4 Managers ,12-16 Engineers and
additional contract team members as needed
- Mentor, coach and support the team that drives trust,
credibility, and future leadership.
- Implement a Hybrid Onshore/Offshore Engineering Resource Model
to drive Quality, Capacity and Efficiency
- Business Insight
- Works with the Director of R&D to embed additional tech
stack capabilities into customer solutions
- Keeping abreast of industry trends and developments and
identifying opportunities for the organization to leverage new
processes in technology engineering
- Drives Results
- Ensure that technology solutions are secure, reliable, and
compliant with industry regulations and standards
- Manage 3 rd party technology providers to meet evolving
capacity and expertise needs
- Working with the Director, Solutions Development, deliver
solutions to production readiness on time and on budget aligned
with the overall business strategy
- Drives Vision and Purpose
- Establish the engineering process, enabling effective
cross-functional communication and a consistent feed-back loop for
product enhancements
- Serve as a liaison between the technical team and the business
team and communicate the technical capabilities and limitations of
proposed solutions
- Manages Ambiguity
- Drive technology software development through efficient
engineering resource allocation
- Act as an escalation point for all solutions to ensure business
continuity for customers
- Strategic Mindset
- Actively seeks out new technologies and opportunities that can
help the organization achieve its goals and stay ahead of its
competitors.
- Consider how technology solutions will evolve over time, and

Experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to engineer advanced electro-mechanical
solutions
- Demonstrated experience delivering high value technology
solutions on time and on budget
- Demonstrated communication skills in a cross functional
environment
- Able to pick up multiple projects in mid-stream to assist
team(s) with completing existing efforts
- Applied project management skills in developing technology
platforms and solutionsMinimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and/or a related
field.
- Experience with various data collection technologies hardware
(RFID, GPS, RTLS, barcode etc.)
- Experience with cloud-based platform providers (AWS, force.com,
Azure, etc.)
- Experience with Machine Learning & Computer Vision
