Job Summary
TheWeb Software Developer will provide web application development
and management expertise in the Office of Institutional Success and
Decision Support.
The primary role is to develop and maintain current websites, web
applications, and other software tools used throughout the
university to support mission critical business processes. These
mission critical applications are important in the current climate
and the Web Software Developer position is critical to ensuring
end-to-end support. The position will have a background in web
application development.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering, Information
Systems, Arts and Technology or related field; two years experience
in Web application software development; or an equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Proficiency in PHP, SQL, JavaScript, CSS, Linux, AWS, and DevOps.
Experience with web software development using version control
(git) and dependency management (composer, npm). Working knowledge
of development tools such as Docker and CLI commands. Experience
and interest in modernizing legacy software applications.
Proficiency in Webserver administration and monitoring. API
development experience is nice to have, but not required. Excellent
communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage time
efficiently.

Remote Work Notice
OSIDS staff have the option to work remotely. As such, this role is
eligible for a remote schedule, subject to manager approval. A UT
Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days upon
approval. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review
and re-approval and may be canceled at any time. Individuals may be
required to use personal computers and other standard office
equipment in order to work remotely. The Web Software Developer
must be located within the DFW area and have the ability to be on
campus within 24 hours of notice.
