The role requires working the night shift on a 3x12-hour schedule. The nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in the Emergency Department. Patient ratios are typically 4:1 during night shifts. The unit sees a diverse range of patient age groups, including adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The daily census averages around 150 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes teams in various specialties such as IV therapy, physical therapy, and respiratory services. The nurse must manage acute conditions, conduct triage, and provide emergency interventions as needed. Proficient skills in intubation, administering IV medications, and monitoring patients are essential. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to handle high-stress situations effectively. The nurse will be required to work weekends and holidays as part of the role. A commitment to patient care and teamwork is crucial for success in this position.
