The Morcos lab is seeking an individual with a doctoral degree with
experience in molecular biophysics and computational biology.
Particularly important is experience with high performance
computing, statistical inference and machine learning applied to
biological sciences.
Minimum Education and Experience
Ph.D in a related field.
Preferred Education and Experience
Experience with structural biology, molecular dynamics simulations
and molecular evolution is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The research associate will perform research in topics connecting
evolution, machine learning, statistical inference for protein
design and engineering and to study the effects of sequence
variability in function and interactions. The candidate will help
develop algorithms and HPC workflows to perform computational
research tied to experimental outcomes. The research associate
should also be able to work with graduate students and contribute
to diverse projects that fulfill the research mission of the
lab.

After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a
hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to
business need and manager approval. May be required to use personal
computer and other standard office equipment. Must be located
within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24
hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required
within 14 days after approval.
