Manager, Semiconductor Process Engineering Position Title Manager, Semiconductor Process Engineering Functional Title Manager, Semiconductor Process Engineering Department Office of Research and Innovation Salary Range DOQ Pay Basis Monthly Position Status Regular full-time Location Position End Date (if temporary) Posting Open Date 11/16/2022 Posting Close Date Open Until Filled Yes Desired Start Date 01/03/2022 Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Research Core Facilities and under the technical direction of the Faculty Advisory Board of the University's Cleanroom Research Laboratory, the Manager will be responsible for overseeing semiconductor process engineering and development. The Manager will supervise tool installation and maintenance, assist in coordinating cleanroom operations and communicating with internal and external users. Minimum Education and Experience --- Master's Degree in Material Sciences, Physics or Chemistry
--- Ten (10) years semiconductor process engineer and development experience
--- Seven (7) years operation of semiconductor process equipment and overall cleanroom operation experience
--- Five (5) years' experience in research facilities processing electronic, photonic, and MEMS devices
--- Two (2) years supervisory experience
--- Equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience will be considered Preferred Education and Experience Preferred experience:
Extensive experience in the operations of a Semiconductor Cleanroom with at least 15 years in semiconductor cleanroom operations and facilities management. Demonstrated ability to direct semiconductor process engineering and development activities and associated operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance, and direction to Staff and users pertaining to all aspects of semiconductor processing including process development, tool operation and maintenance, selection of new tools, sustainment of existing processes and continuous improvements.
  • Provide semiconductor processing guidance and direction for new process requests, troubleshooting issues with current processes.
  • Provide leadership on/and enforce cleanroom best practice.
  • Assist in managing and directing cleanroom budget.
  • Assist in communication and interface with cleanroom staff, cleanroom users including faculty and students and the director.
  • Assist in developing and enforcing safety and training programs.
  • Participate in University and professional activities as appropriate.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as assigned. Physical Activities Working Conditions Additional Information Required Skills and Experience:
    • 10+ years experience in semiconductor process engineering/development, operation of semiconductor process equipment and overall cleanroom operations.
    • Experience in research facilities processing electronic, photonic, and MEMS devices.
    • Familiar with procurement, installation and maintenance of semiconductor equipment.
    • Experience in project and budget management and execution of projects in a timely manner.
    • Experience in operation of industrial research labs and development facilities is preferred.
    • REMOTE WORK NOT AVAILABLE - A remote work schedule is not available for this position.
