Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in
Richardson, TX with analog and digital design experience. The
Senior Electrical Engineer is a senior position responsible for
clean sheet and upgrade electronic solutions across a Circuit Card
Assembly. In addition to being cognizant of an individual circuit
card design, the Senior Electrical Engineer will mentor less
experienced engineers with various backgrounds in circuit card and
firmware design providing guidance and support. Products are
typically required to comply with various MIL standards including
MIL-STD-461. This opportunity is targeted toward engineers who
enjoy working in a systems environment as it includes designing
multiple electrical elements of a product; interacting with
mechanical and software team members; developing PCB and system
requirements; and supporting system test teams.

Primary Responsibilities:
--- Researches, develops, design, fabrication, modification, and
evaluation of electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for
use in electronic equipment and devices, ensuing work is completed
on time and established quality and budgets are achieved.
--- Prepares engineering drawings or specifications to construct,
relocate, or install equipment, facilities, products, or
systems.
--- Prepares documentation including confidential descriptions or
specifications of proprietary hardware or software, information on
product development, introduction schedules, product costs, and
performance weaknesses to track progress and analyze
performance.
--- Performs engineering work and applied research, development,
and design of new products to ensure quality standards and business
objectives are met
--- Produces products according to specifications, using the most
cost effective and efficient means.
--- Analyzes and evaluates new or improved electronic
components.
--- Includes power generation, transmission and distribution,
rotating machinery, illumination, wire communication systems and
servomechanisms.
--- Includes circuit theory, computer design and development,
instrumentation, radio communications, semiconductor devices, solid
state devices, and video systems.
--- Mentor newer engineers in design and development practices.
Basic Qualifications:
--- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of relevant
experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant
experience is required
--- Must have a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
within the 2 years. Candidate selected will be subject to a
government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet
eligibility requirements.
--- Experience with pre-CAD circuit design, including schematic
capture, power, FPGA resource utilization, background knowledge of
PWB stacks ups
--- Experience in industry design tools, i.e. Xpedition Enterprise,
Cadence Allegro, etc.
--- Experience with mixed signal design. One or more of the
following: SoC/FPGAs, A/D Converters, Digital Down Converters, D/A
Converters, Digital Waveform Generators, Mixed Signal CCAs, Mixed
Signal Modules and Subsystems
--- Experience with digital hardware design. One or more of the
following: Subsystem/Module Digital Circuits, FPGA/ASICs, COTS
Interfaces, Subsystem Development, VME/PCI interfaces Digital
Systems, System Trades, Architecture, Embedded Processing
--- Familiarity with signal integrity best practices and ability to
coordinate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to provide and/or
source the needed inputs for subject matter experts to run
models
--- The ability to train and mentor early-career engineers
--- Must have a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
within the 2 years. Candidate selected will be subject to a
government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet
eligibility requirements.
--- Good communication skills and the ability to tailor to audience
at all levels
Preferred Qualifications:
--- Active DoD security clearance
--- Electronics design with recent experience in 3U VPX and/or SOSA
hardware
--- Understanding of backplane topologies, slot and module profiles
of 3U VPX card sets
--- 5+ years' experience developing products and systems.
--- Experience in designing digital and analog products including
microprocessor systems, low-power supplies, communication
subsystems.
--- Experience with signal integrity and designing for high speed
designs.
--- TEMPEST design experience
--- Working knowledge of EMI/EMC standards for military
applications.
--- Experience designing for Military Aircraft applications.
--- Experience using ALM tools including Jira and Confluence
--- Experience working with industry standard toolsets for
requirement capture and task management (e.g. DOORs, Microsoft
Project)
--- Experience in developing test procedures and test fixtures.
--- Ability to read, create and review engineering drawings
including schematics, assembly drawings and parts lists.
--- Experience interfacing to RF circuitry and high speed A/D D/A
conversion
--- Experience with implementation of high speed backplanes.
--- Experience with Siemens Xpedition tool suite
--- Proven analytical skills using in circuit simulation (Matlab,
LT Spice)
--- Knowledge of firmware development, design and test using
suitable toolsets (Xilinx Vivado, ModelSim)
--- Experience with CAM (Cost Account Management) duties.
--- Ability to lead small teams and report status to
management.
