Platform engineers, with their comprehensive technical and problem-solving skills, are shaping the future of software development to efficiently deliver high-quality, secure software, by providing automated services that enable SW engineers to focus on developing mission capabilities.
You will be on a team that is responsible for development and operational environments consisting of a mix of servers, workstations, storage, networks, and custom hardware. These environments provide the enterprise hybrid-cloud backbone for product development and testing for a large program producing a critical, strategic national asset. Assist with architecture, design, development, integration, and support of build, integration & test, and deployment pipelines, optimizing for performance and scalability across on-premises cloud computing environments
* Leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to improve scalability, consistency, infrastructure efficiency, reduce deployment time, and automate configuration management
* Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and DevOps teams to design and implement development and mission solutions
* Integrate security and compliance into the platform with services such as encryption and access management
* Provide operational support for the platform
*Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Physics and 5 years of related work experience
* Experience with Red Hat Linux or vendor equivalent
* Experience with Linux based OS
* Experience with automation frameworks such as Chef, Puppet, and Ansible
* S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date. S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
*Experience with COTS/FOSS product installation, configuration, and integration
* Experience developing, testing & delivering applications w/in a DevSecOps framework
* Experience with programming/scripting languages (E.g. Python, Java, Bash, Perl, Ruby, C++)
* Experience with Networking Concepts and architectures
* Notional Experience with compute, networks, storage, and virtualization
* Notional Experience designing, implementing, and integrating platform infrastructure services using technologies such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, Rancher
* Current DoD 8570 certification (CompTIA Security +, CCNA) or ability to obtain
* Administrative experience with Red Hat Linux v7+, 8+ preferred
