ROLE: GCP Data Engineer

Qualification:
Bachelor's in science, engineering or equivalent
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual base salary for this position is between $[120,000- 160,000] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer science or equivalent with minimum of 10+ years of IT experience


Technical Technical Skills- Google Cloud - Storage Google Cloud - Big Data Cloud Composer Cloud Dataproc GCP Services Google BigQuery GCP CloudSQL Google Cloud Compute Engine Google Cloud Functions
Roles & Responsibilities:
Design Build and operationalizing large-scale enterprise data solutions and applications using one or more of GCP data and analytics services in combination with 3rd parties - Big Table Cloud Big Query Cloud Pub Sub Cloud Functions etc.
Analyzing re-architecting and re-platforming on premise data warehouses to data platforms on GCP cloud using GCP/3rd party services
Designing and building production data pipelines from ingestion to consumption within a hybrid big data architecture using Java Python Scala etc.
Architecting and implementing next generation data and analytics platforms on GCP cloud
Designing and implementing data engineering ingestion and curation functions on GCP cloud using GCP native or custom programming
Working with recommendation engines data pipelines or distributed machine learning and experience with data analytics and data visualization techniques and software
Performing detail assessments of current state data platforms and creating an appropriate transition path to GCP cloud
Designing and implementing at production scale
Demonstrate excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
Ability to use strong industry knowledge to relate to customer needs and dissolve customer concerns and high level of focus and attention to detail.
Strong work ethic with good time management with ability to work with diverse teams and lead meetings
Minimum 10-12 years of designing building and operationalizing large-scale enterprise data solutions and applications using one or more of GCP data and analytics services in combination with 3rd parties - Spark Cloud DataProc Cloud Dataflow Apache Beam Big Table Cloud BigQuery Cloud Pub Sub Cloud Functions etc.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience analyzing re-architecting and re-platforming on premise data
