This position is part time 2:00-6:00pm with more hours available when the children are off school.   Our Afterschool Teachersare responsible for general classroom management and supervision of students in our school age / summer program. As a Afterschool Teacher, you will help students plan classroom activities, help with mealtimes and clean up, and ensure a safe and clean classroom at all times.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:-Supervises students during all activities- Counsels students when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise-Guides students in planning their classroom activities-Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained-Helps children with meal times and clean-up-Helps with homework, student accident reports, and attendance reports-Attends and participates in staff meetings and school events-Ensures that all classroom and outdoor equipment are in good working condition and are used and maintained properly-Helps arrange the classroom into well-defined interest areas-Maintains family information board and other classroom bulletin boards-Communicates appropriate information to parentsEnsures that classroom medication schedule is followedQualifications:
  • Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields
  • Passionate about working with children
  • Ability to build rapport with children
  • Positive and patient demeanor
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • High School Diploma/Equivalent
  • CPR/First Aid (can be fulfilled upon hire)
  • Background Check and Fingerprints (can be fulfilled upon hire)
