Job Summary: Perform testing on general building sites and facilities Interpret project plans and specifications for compliance with projects requirements Perform soil density testing using nuclear gauge in accordance with ASTM and project specifications on site at commercial construction projects Perform sampling and testing of concrete in accordance with ASTM and project specifications Prepare and submit timely written field reports summarizing daily activities/observations and density calculations and results Observe proof rolls, undercut operations, perform footing inspections with dynamic cone penetrometer, and inspect rebar Test and work in accordance with Company safety policies Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications Interact with client representative (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work outdoors in North TX weather conditions/extremes Ability to drive a company truck, valid driver’s license Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy Preferred Qualifications 1 year Construction Materials Testing experience either on commercial projects or on transportation construction projects Recent graduate with BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management ACI Field Level I certification (concrete sampling and field testing) Troxler or equivalent certification Ability to evaluate soil subgrade prior to placement of fill and perform standard soil Proctor and moisture checks Ability to read and understand site grading drawings Other DOT certifications Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, standing, and walking as needed over potentially uneven terrain We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
