Job Description:
Provides environmental and health and safety compliance support
to management and staff across North America. The role includes
supporting Company operations, auditing the regulatory compliance
performance (with a focus on LDAR requirements) of facilities and
reporting findings to executive management. Work with management in
operations, environmental compliance and health and safety to
communicate and implement leading practices to improve regulatory
compliance in support of the Corporate "Zero Deficiency" goal.
Responsibilities
- Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following
policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner;
- Plans and conducts audits of LDAR monitoring including
calibration, testing, repairs, and review of documentation at
company facilities;
- Prepares audit reports and corrective action plans. Monitors
the execution of corrective actions;
- May be tasked with planning and execution of audits of internal
controls covering a broad range of the company's operations;
- Examines records, documents, methods, policies, and other
factors to determine if functional areas are conducting operations
in accordance with established guidelines, policies, procedures,
and governmental and legal requirements;
- Leverage technology to source information, data and evaluate
environmental compliance risk areas;
- Makes recommendations regarding corrective action and reviews
audit findings with managers;
- Communicate significant findings/issues to management and the
VP of Compliance Audit as necessary;
- Coordinates the preparation of reports summarizing audit
results;
- Provide follow-up and ensure that regulatory compliance is
achieved in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in environmental and/or science
discipline, or similar related experience, or 2-5 years equivalent
combination of education and/or experience;
- Knowledge of LDAR testing requirements and related
regulations;
- Superior organizational management, administration, and
communication skills;
- Strong time management, multi-tasking, problem solving and
decision-making skills;
- Computer literate and have proficient written and oral
skills;
- CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager), CEA (Certified
Environmental Auditor) and OSHA certifications are a plus;
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Provincial regulations,
including EPA (RCRA, SARA/CERCLA, TSCA, CWA, and CAA), OSHA and DOT
are a plus;
- Must wear PPE as necessary (hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe
boots, Tyvek, etc.);
- Must be able to walk up to 5 miles daily, stand, climb, stoop,
bend, and lift;
- Must be available for travel (including overnight) to
facilities, meetings and assigned tasks as needed;
- Ability to travel frequently 60%+.
